Gabriella (Gabby) Knight is excited to join the amazing Iowa coaching staff for the 2026-2027 season! With nine years of collegiate debate coaching experience and an academic background in Communication & Rhetoric, Africana Studies, Disability Studies, and FGSS, Gabby brings a multidisciplinary approach and keen insight to transforming critical theory into winning arguments aligned with debaters’ individual interests.  

Before starting her coaching career, Gabriella began her debate journey as a sophomore at Edmond Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Oklahoma and later went on to compete collegiately for Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. During her time as a competitor Gabby was a CEDA All-American Scholar, two-time CEDA semifinalists, NDT quarterfinalist, and winner of multiple tournaments.

Outside of her professional and coaching pursuits, Gabby enjoys reading, consuming unreasonable amounts of coffee, and watching bad horror movies.
