Spencer is entering his second year at the University of Iowa with majors in linguistics and communication studies. Originally from Edina, Minnesota, he had a successful high school career with six bids and two TOC appearances. Spencer spent two years debating for the University of Minnesota before transferring to the University of Iowa to pursue an interest in critical debate on the affirmative and negative. Along with being a CEDA All American and Magna Cum Laude National Debate Scholar, he reached quarterfinals of the CEDA National Tournament. Outside of debate, Spencer has an interest in language learning and enjoys reading and listening to music in other languages.
